Boy, She Has My Lips!

Mikara's favorite spot to lay is on her daddy's chest! This was last night and I just couldn't resist taking the picture. She looks so sound and sweet.

Our July

Another month has rolled by and our little girl is headed for 4 month old!! I can't believe it. In the beginning of the month she was trying to sit up by pulling her head forward while she would lay in her chair. Now she is trying to roll over but can't quite get the bottom half to roll with her top half. She tries so hard and it is mostly when she is sleeping and she makes all kinds of noises which keeps us up all night! ha! She is also babbling now. It is so cute. It is like she is talking to her friends and to us when she does it. Aunt Angie bought her an activitiy mat when she was born and Mikara used to just lay on it and look at everything. But now she lays on it and plays, talks, kicks and hits everything. Here are some random pictures of Mikara's first July.

Bedtime Story

Every night at about 8pm Mikara gets a bath and then we read a bedtime story. She LOVES both her bath and books. She starts kicking as soon as I turn the water on because she gets so excited. After I get her into her PJs we sit in her room and pick out a book to read. She sits on my lap and looks at the pictures while I read to her. Our favorites right now are Goodnight Thumper, Goodnight Moon and What is A Princess. :)

Look What I Can Do Now!

Mikara is 3 months old now and is grow like a weed! She sleeps very well...from around 9pm - 6am, wakes up for a bottle and then back to sleep until around 8am. She also sleep some during the day which is kind of good for me to get some stuff done. She tries to sit up by pulling her self forward. She is more alert than ever...she follows us with her eyes around the room and love to look at her friends (her little toys from her mobile, carseat and bouncy seat) She also LOVES to watch TV. I turn Noggin on sometimes during the day for Wonder Pets, Little Bear and Blues Clues. They are very educational so I don't mind her watching a little. When I read her books she looks at the pages like she is really into it...it is funny. When I have to do work on the computer she sits on my lap and watchs sometimes. She is just too cute and too fun! Lexy loves her too! Lexy will lay by her and sometimes wall up and kiss her! She is protective of all 3 of us now. I was concerned at first that she might have OSS "Older Sister Syndrome" ha! But she was great from day one. We love our happy little family!

Ears Pierced!

On July 17th Mikara turned 3 months old. I just can't believe it! It went so fast. We took her to the mall to get her picture taken and we decided to get her ears pierced. Well, I could have been talked out of it very easily...but Gordon really wanted to get it done and talked me into it. I knew I wanted to get them done when she was about this age, but when it came time to do it...boy was that a different story...I thought I was going to throw up! Gordon sat in the chair with Mikara while they did it. She starting crying even before they pierced ears because they make dots first with a marker and Gordon had to hold her head still. She was so mad and cried becasue she didn't want to hold her head still. I cried when they pierced them and could not look!! ha! After it was done, she cried for under 5 minutes...and then she fell asleep in her stroller. She woke up about 30 minutes later in a great mood and her ears never seemed to bother her. She slept on them and even let us touch them. I am glad we got them done knowing they don't hurt her.

After we got Mikara's ears done she fell asleep and woke up in a great mood so we continued on to Sears to get her picture taken. We put her in a pretty dress and she just would not smile! She usually smiles at Gordon but she was too busy looking around at everything. So after a few shots we changed her into casual clothes for a fun background. Now she was beaming at Gordon! I am a picture nut and I had already talked myself into buying one 8x10 for our family wall and some wallets for us.....well I wasn't the problem....Proud Poppa wanted to buy them all! Well $67 later we had 3 8x10's, a 5x7 and a sheet of wallets...I guess that wasn't too bad. :) Gordon is just in AWWW over his little girl. He worked so hard that day! He was the one to get her ears done with NO help from me! Then at the portait studio he was on the floor working for that smile! So funny. He loves her so much!
